Porsche Billet Timing Chain Housing Cover Set (964/993)

These billet aluminum timing chain covers are a direct replacement for the leaky magnesium covers installed from the factory on 964 and 993 Porsche 911s. Covers are anodized black (custom colors available here).

Unlike other replacement covers on the market, our Stimmt Works covers forgo the rubber gasket and 'donut' washers from Porsche. These are effective in an ideal scenario, but most leaking timing chain housings have some level of pitting and corrosion on both the cover and housing sealing surfaces. Even a perfect gasket can't seal against these surfaces, so instead our covers are intended for use with gasket sealant* which can fill these gaps and create a perfect seal. Likewise, these covers have a slightly heftier build than the OEM magnesium parts to minimize the risk of leaks and as such, these are not intended to be a weight-saving part.

Sold as a pair (left and right). Includes (18) M6 socket head bolts and washers for ease of installation. Optionally, 30mm studs and flange nuts (not included) can be used in lieu of the socket head screws. Studs can remain installed in the timing chain housing, meaning less wear on the magnesium threads if the covers will be semi-frequently removed.

*Elring Curil T2 or Loctite 518 are recommended for gasketing these timing covers. If other sealants are used they MUST be non-hardening. Hardening sealants (e.g. RTV) are not recommended. Note that a single thread on each timing chain housing passes through into the timing chain compartment. Sealant must also be applied to this hole, otherwise oil will leak out along the mounting bolt/stud.
